Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, chaired the Nuclear Energy for Peace Committee (NEPC) meeting on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The meeting included representatives from various ministries and experts in fields such as science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and law. The committee approved adjustments to the NEPC subcommittees to enhance efficiency, agility, and comprehensive legal oversight. A key agenda item was the consideration of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) as part of Thailand’s clean energy and sustainability policy, preparing for future nuclear power generation in line with the country’s Power Development Plan (PDP). The meeting was held at Government House.
