OAP Enhances Radioactive Material Security through the RSSM Course under ISO 29993 Standard

           On September 17, 2024, Ms. Pennapa Kanchana, OAP Deputy Secretary General presided over the opening of the Radioactive Source Security Management (RSSM) training course for the fiscal year 2024. The course runs from September 17 to 20, 2024, in the main conference room on the 2nd floor of Building 1 at OAP. It focuses on improving the security management of radioactive materials, which is essential and must be handled with strict measures to prevent potential risks to workers, the public, and the environment, ensuring efficient operational use. Over 40 participants from relevant agencies are attending the training.

The course covers key topics such as nuclear and radiation security management, the design of relevant measures, including basic knowledge of radioactive materials, responsibilities for radioactive material security, and security systems for radioactive materials. The aim is to equip participants with the knowledge and understanding of radioactive material security, enabling them to apply this in their related fields of work, resulting in safe and standardized practices. This course is also certified under the ISO 29993 standard.
