On August 26, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Pasit Lorterapong, OAP Secretary General and delegates from OAP held discussions with Mr. LIU Jing, Vice Chairman of the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA), and his team. The talks focused on the framework for cooperation in nuclear technology and drafting agreements for the peaceful use of nuclear technology between the CAEA and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). The discussions covered various areas, including research and development in nuclear energy utilization, nuclear safety and security, emergency preparedness for nuclear and radiological incidents, radioactive waste management, and the application of nuclear technology in agriculture, industry, medicine, and environmental protection. The collaboration also aims to enhance personnel capabilities and includes the exchange of policies, laws, regulations, and standards related to nuclear technology and energy development, both current and future.
This cooperation aligns with the key policy of Miss Supamas Isarabhakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, focusing on the development of human resources in science, research, and innovation, particularly in the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy.
