On August 2, 2024, more than 30 OAP personnel help formulate the operation plan for the National Emergency Command Center for Nuclear and Radiological Situations to strengthen its mission in regulating nuclear and radiological safety, as well as preparing for and responding to nuclear and radiological emergencies in the country.
The center must manage nuclear and radiological emergencies. It also serves as a central hub for hazard monitoring, preparedness, and emergency response, including the assessment and tracking of situations both domestically and internationally. It has the capability to coordinate and communicate immediately, 24 hours a day.
