OAP welcomes 60 participants from 24 Asia and the Pacific countries on its campus for Asia and South Pacific Regional Training Course on the New Regulatory Authority Information System (RAIS+) from May 13 to 17, 2024. The training course aims to provide insight into RAIS+ which is a software developed by IAEA to supersede the older RAIS. RAIS+ is a comprehensive regulatory database containing all necessary information with respect to regulatory processes, radioactive material inventory, equipment and instruments, and operators.
Having already relied on IT for all licensing processes, OAP has a plan to incorporate RAIS+ with its existing database to enhance its regulatory functions.
