Possible development of small modular reactors (SMR) in Thailand is also a topic of discussion as it is viewed as a way to help produce clean energy.
In addition, the IAEA team has an opportunity to meet with Mr. Permsuk Sajjapiwat, Permanent Secretary of MHESI, in a high-level policy meeting where technical cooperation between Thailand and IAEA is discussed.
The IAEA team also takes advantage of its presence in Thailand by following up on Thailand’s activities that relate to IAEA’s flagship project with the following counterparts: Institute of Nutrition at Mahidol University (Atoms4Food), Ramathibodi Hospital (Rays of Hope) which is a possible candidate for IAEA Rays of Hope Anchor Centre, Department of Ground Water Resource Management (Water Management) and Chulabhorn Royal Academy (Rays of Hope).
A visit from high-level IAEA personnel signifies a strong collaboration between Thailand and IAEA which can support the uses of nuclear energy for national developments in all aspects.
