OAP and eight other relevant entities host an IAEA’s Occupational Radiation Protection Appraisal Service (ORPAS) Mission from March 11 to 19, 2024, aiming to strengthen radiation safety and protection for operators, the environment and the public.
The other organizations/companies/institutes participate in the mission this week are Department of Medical Science, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology, Siam Light Research Institute, Ramathibodi Hospital, Chulalongkorn Hospital, Siva Testing, Inspection and Consulting Co., Ltd., San Miguel Beer (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Nagasae (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
ORPAS mission is conducted as an independent appraisal service in the field of radiation protection of workers. Such an appraisal is an opportunity for a Member State to have all or some aspects of its occupational radiation protection program independently assessed and evaluated against international safety standards. An independent assessment can be used to maintain or enhance the effectiveness of the program and to identify in an objective and unbiased manner the areas where improvements may be required to meet international guidance and best practices.
