Two opening activities under ASEANTOM-EC: Enhancing and Strengthening the Response to a Radiological or Nuclear Emergency in ASEAN underway today at OAP and welcome thirty participants from nine countries: Malaysia, Viet Nam, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Lao and Thailand. In addition, the events receive the honor from Assoc. Prof. Pasit Lorterapong, OAP Secretary General and Mr. Daniel Hachez, Minister Counsellor with the Delegation of the EU to Thailand in the opening session.
This is one of many ASEAN-EC cooperation projects which focuses on enhancing regional capacity in monitoring, preparing for and responding to nuclear and radiological emergency using Decision Support System (DSS). The project has been planned for thirty months and has started since December 1, 2023.
OAP hosts the first two activities under the project from February 21 to 23, 2024.
